Keynote Lecture 1: Prof. Dr. Tri Nuke Pudjiastuti, M.A.

Prof. Dr. Tri Nuke Pudjiastuti, M.A., is a Research Professor specializing in National Security and Strategic Issues in Indonesia. She holds a prominent position at the Research Center for Politics, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Indonesia , where she has dedicated her career to exploring migration, human security, and international relations, particularly in the Southeast Asia region. Prof. Pudjiastuti is a recognized expert on forced migration and people smuggling, with her research significantly influencing policy-making and academic discourse on these issues. She received her M.A. in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Adelaide and her Doctorate degree from  the Department of Criminology, University of Indonesia. Beyond her research, she has played a vital role in policy advocacy, shaping discussions on strategic national issues, and contributing to Indonesia’s understanding of regional security challenges, particularly in ASEAN. Prof. Pudjiastuti has also been actively involved in various international collaborations, further enhancing her impact in the field.

Prof. Pudjiastuti will deliver a keynote lecture in IASFM20 on international migration and forced displacement in the Southeast Asia region. 

Keynote Lecture 2: Prof. Dr. Stephen Cairns

Prof. Dr. Stephen Cairns is a Professor at the Monash University Indonesia campus and a respected academic with expertise in urban studies and architecture. Prof. Cairns is also a Senior Research Scientist at the Future Cities Laboratory, Singapore-ETH Centre, where he continues to contribute to research on urban sustainability. Prior to these roles, Prof. Cairns was a Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Edinburgh and Titular Professor at ETH Zurich.  His research focuses on the intersection of architecture, urbanism, and environmental sustainability, with a strong emphasis on Southeast Asia. Prof. Cairns has contributed extensively to urban studies, particularly in understanding the dynamics of cities in the context of climate change and sustainability.

Prof. Cairns will deliver a keynote lecture on the urban perspective on forced displacement.
