Publication Opportunities
We are pleased to announce that several journals have confirmed they would welcome submissions from the IASFM20 Conference participants who will present their abstracts in the conference. Submissions can be in form of individual full paper submission or a special issue proposal as specified by each journal.
Important notice:
A paper submitted to any of these journals will be subject to a stringent pre-selection and review process according to each journal’s quality standards and review policies. Participants are advised to read the journal’s scope and aim before deciding the suitable journal. The decision on publication will depend on the peer-review process. Accordingly, a guarantee for publication will not be issued before making the submission and completion of the review process. The following journals welcome individual submissions of a full paper from abstracts accepted for presentation in the IASFM20 Conference:
1. International Journal of Refugee Law (Scopus Q2)
The International Journal of Refugee Law is the leading peer-reviewed journal on all aspects of international law relating to forced migration.It publishes high-quality articles on issues at the forefront of the law on forced migration, rigorous analysis of refugee law jurisprudence and State practice, as well as scholarship on the history and evolution of refugee law. It also contains summaries of recent key cases from around the world, important documents relating to international protection, and book reviews.
2. Refugee Survey Quarterly (Scopus Q2)
The Refugee Survey Quarterly (RSQ) is an online only, peer-reviewed journal that publishes work at the intersection of research, policy, and practice in the refugee and forced displacement fields from a range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives. With four issues per year, and Advance Access online, the RSQ showcases high-quality original research on, or which has direct implications for, policy and practice in the refugee and forced displacement fields. The RSQ seeks to serve as a bridge between the research, policy, and practitioner communities to facilitate the exchange of research, insight, and expertise.
3. Indonesian Journal of International Law (IJIL) (Scopus Q3 – Sinta 1)
The Indonesian Journal of International Law (IJIL) is an open access, double-blind peer-reviewed, and internationally recognized journal in the field of international law. IJIL serves as a forum for articles on international law generally while attempting to present materials and viewpoints from and/or about Indonesia and other parts of Asia and the developing world at large. Combining various thematic coverage, IJIL aims to present current practice and its theoretical reflection within the different branches of international law. For a submission, the paper should fall within the focus and scope of the journal and is a result of a collaboration between Indonesian scholar(s) and non-Indonesian scholar(s).
4. Wilayah dan Lingkungan (Sinta 2)
Jurnal Wilayah dan Lingkungan is an open-access journal focusing on scientific works devoted to the study of regional development and environmental management issues. This journal publishes both empirical and theoretical research to advance and disseminate knowledge related to regional development and environmental management. The journal emphasizes sustainability issues in the economic, social, environmental, and institutional dimensions of regional and urban development in Indonesia and worldwide. Jurnal Wilayah dan Lingkungan is published three times per year in April, August, and December.
5. The Indonesian Journal of Planning and Development (Sinta 2)
The Indonesian Journal of Planning and Development is a journal devoted to planning and development issues in Indonesia and worldwide. IJPD encourages new scholarly discoveries in cross-boundary and cross-cutting fields relevant to the designated topics. Specifically, IJPD highlights sustainability concerns on social, economic, environmental, and institutional developments. The topics may cover, but not limited to, the following sub-topics: urbanization and peri-urbanization, human settlement and livelihood, rural-urban linkages, climate change and community resilience, urban and regional governance, public infrastructure and investment, development finance and public-private partnership, migration, smart mobility, and transportation and growth, equity, and development institutionalization. IJPD is published two times per year on February and October, and has been indexed by Google Scholar, Sinta-2, Garuda, IPI, Scilit, and Base.
The following journals welcome individual submissions of a full paper from abstracts accepted for presentation in the IASFM20 Conference. The journals will consider publishing selected papers as part of special issues.
1. Journal of Immigrant and Refugee Studies (Scopus Q2)
The Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies is a double-anonymized, peer-reviewed publication, interdisciplinary and international in scope. It is unique in its character as it covers both migration and refugee studies, with a truly global coverage, across continents and topics. The journal publishes full-length theoretical and empirical research discussing migration governance, migrant/refugee integration, and related policies and practices. The journal privileges international and comparative perspectives but also accepts case studies focusing on specific groups, regions, or countries. Both quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches are welcome.
2. Sojourn: Journal of Social Issues in Southeast Asia (Scopus Q3)
SOJOURN is an interdisciplinary journal devoted to the study of social and cultural issues in Southeast Asia. It publishes empirical and theoretical research articles to promote and disseminate scholarship in and on the region. Areas of special concern include ethnicity, religion, tourism, urbanization, migration, popular culture, social and cultural change, and development. Fields most often represented in the journal are anthropology, sociology and history. Publication Frequency is triannual (March, July and November).
These journals will accept individual submissions and may also consider proposals for special issues from abstracts/panels accepted for presentation in the IASFM20 Conference.
1. Humaniora (Sinta-2)
Humaniora is an academic, open access, and peer-reviewed journal founded and first published in 1989 by the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Focusing on the study of culture as it is viewed from the Indonesian perspective, Humaniora provides a platform for the presentation, analysis, and criticism of provocative works and publishes articles that transcend disciplines and advance the study of humanities. Submissions for Thematic Edition should be made through a proposal outlining the theme and proposed timeline, submitted by the Guest Editor.
