IASFM Clusters are an innovative platform that should provide opportunities for members to disseminate research activities and also provide a basis for collaboration. The purpose of this platform is to convene around certain themes which are core to the IASFM mandate.

Possible Clusters or themes: Clusters can be formed based on a research theme (e.g. inclusive higher education for the displaced communities, temporary protection, ethics and knowledge production, environmental change and migration, and more).

IASFM can support the development of new Research Clusters in these ways:

• Hosting a cluster website under the IASFM domain (i.e., http://iasfm.org/name_of_cluster) . You would have administrative control over your cluster;
• Provide you with access to zoom links for collaborative and networking meetings, if needed;
• If you wanted to host a pre-conference meeting or workshop at one of the IASFM conferences, we would be happy to cover the expenses of space and refreshments (tea/coffee and light lunch) for your cluster
  group, subject to budget approval;
• Your cluster would have a slot (presentation or panel) at the IASFM conference to present the research or initiatives that may come out of your cluster collaborations;
• IASFM would be happy to provide letters of support if you are planning on submitting funding proposals to carry out research generated from your cluster.

IASFM will send out an annual call, at the beginning of each fiscal year to its members with submissions reviewed by the Programme Affairs and Innovation Officers

Criteria

• Any member of IASFM can join and lead a cluster.
• It is expected that members of clusters who are not IASFM members join by the next conference. Five IASFM members can propose a cluster.
• Each cluster can be structured, organized and run differently, based on the choice/decision of its members.
• Each cluster is expected to appoint one representative as a Cluster Spokesperson to communicate with IASFM ExCom.
